YAS Summer Reading Program
Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice… we say it ends with pizza and bingo!
We may not be reaping you for the Hunger Games, sorting you into factions, or sending you into the maze – but we’re preparing for the end of the world at the library this summer! Whether it ends in fire or ice, YAS SRP 2024 is going have an action-packed summer – while we watch Jim the Raccoon survive it all. We’ll be kicking it off on the Burke County Courthouse Square with a “Kickoff to Summer Party,” and then playing games, watching movies, participating in activities, making crafts, and (of course) reading right up until we reach the end of it all – Pizza and Bingo Night. Track your program participation and reading to be entered in to win awesome prizes – including gift cards, Lego sets, gift baskets, and the chance to take home Jim the Raccoon!
Register and track your participation and points on bcpls.readsquared.com or on the FREE READSquared app! For every book you read, program you attend, and activity you complete – you can track it all on your READSquared account and be entered to win prizes!
YAS Programming is limited to rising middle, middle, and high school students.

Children’s Summer Reading Program
Join the Burke County Public Library for a summer full of adventures!
Registration begins May 13th for programs, storytimes, and reading tracking.
Fun programs and activities all summer long!
Weekly Storytimes require pre-registration and run June 10th through July 27th.
Set your own personal goals and track minutes read digitally on READSquared OR on paper. Tracking can be done June 10th through July 31st.
Weekly prizes from the prize cart at any location.
Register and track your minutes read on bcpls.readsquared.com or on the FREE READSquared app, or if you prefer a paper tracker, they will be available in June (for download on our website and in print at your library). Each week that you track minutes read, you get to visit the prize cart!
