The Burke County Public Library is made up of the Morganton
Public Library (1923), the Valdese Public Library (1944), and the C.B.
Hildebrand Public Library (1997). These libraries are all located on the
I-40 corridor in the Foothills of North Carolina. The Burke County
Public Library strives to improve lives through reading, learning,
connecting, and creating.

Driving Directions:
From Interstate 40:
Take Exit 105 and follow 18 North. Travel approximately 2 miles. Turn
left onto W. Concord Street, go through two traffic lights, and the
parkinglot for the library will be to your left. The library will be
just across from the lot on your right.
From the Interstate:
Take Exit 111 and turn onto Carolina Street. (I-40 east, this is a right
turn from the exit I-40 west, this is a left turn from the exit).
Follow Carolina for approximately 1 mile and turn left onto St. Germain
Avenue. Valdese Public Library is the second building on left, next door
to the First United Methodist church.
From Hwy 70:
Turn onto Carolina Street, drive one block, and make a right onto St.
Germain. Valdese Public Library is the second building on left, next
door to the First United Methodist church.
The C.B. Hildebrand Public Library will be closed from 1pm-2pm on Saturdays for lunch.

Take Exit 119B, turning north onto S.Center St, heading into Hildebran.
Drive 0.5 miles, and turn left onto Main Ave West. You will see the
library/senior center on the hill to your left. The driveway is just
past the building.
From Hwy 70:
Turn onto S. Center St. Drive 0.5 miles, and turn right onto Main Ave
West. You will see the library/senior center on the hill to your left.
