Transcribed Text: Cool Kids Club @ MPL & VPL June 8-July 25 Call to register your child for each session that they would like to attend. Pre-registration is required for all sessions. Cool Kids Club is for students in 3rd-5th grades. Week 1: June 8/9: Unearthing Dragons - Celebrate week 1 with dragon-themed crafts and activities. Week 2: June 15/16: Unearth the Past - Rhonda Roederer, a local micropaleontologist, will give us a hands-on introduction to the fascinating world of fossils! Some of the things you might see are a Woolly Mammoth tooth, Ammonites, Trilobites, dinosaur bones and dung. Week 3: June 22/23: Unearth Our Environment by exploring our soil and water in different ways. (There just might even be a delicious way to understand soil layers!) Week 4: July 6/7: Unearth Space’s Mysteries with out-of-this-world activities. Week 5: (No registration needed for this week’s programs only. Both programs open to both groups.) Monday, July 13: Wildlife Geeks! Join us at the R.O. Huffman Center in Drexel at 5:00 pm for a featured presentation from Chuck, the Wildlife Geek, as we get up close and personal with amazing and rare wildlife from around the world! Tuesday, July 21: WNC Nature Center: Tracks & Scat @ VPL Studying what an animal leaves behind is a great way to learn about the lifestyle and habits of local wildlife: rotate among stations to play animal track games, design your own track guides, and study scat models. Thursday, July 24: History Museum of Burke County Meet at the museum for a guided tour and activity celebrating America’s 250th birthday!
